Founded in 1985, the Idaho Film Collection contains films, audio and videotapes, photographs, scripts, documents, news stories, articles and correspondence, and "paper" (posters and lobby cards) relating to silent and talkie feature films made in the Gem State.

Located in the Hemingway Western Studies Center on the campus of Boise State University, Collection materials are also housed in the Simplot-Micron Instructional Technology Center and in Special Collections in Albertsons Library on the campus.

Materials in the collection are available to the public and to film students and scholars for research and for special projects and events. As well, the Collection serves as a referral center (or "adoption agency") for collectors and owners of Idaho and non-Idaho films.

Most, but not all, of the IFC holdings (with helpful local, national, and international links and listings of IFC publications and videotapes) may be accessed at The Howard Anderson Idaho Film Archive and on the Nell Shipman page by clicking the links below.
