Summer 2008 Email Consultations

Given the limited hours we are open this summer, we have made some adjustments to our email system. Instead of submitting your paper online, we ask that you call us (426-1298)BEFORE you send us your paper. That way, we can set an appointment for you and make sure that we have time to read and respond to your work. When you call us, we can set the appointment, and then you can attach your paper to us on email: writing@boisestate.edu.

You can reach us by phone during our open hours, Monday through Thursday, from 9 to 4. If no one answers during those times, leave a message or try back a little later. Please realize that our appointment times might fill up and it’s possible that we will not be able to respond to your paper as quickly as you had hoped. We’ll try our best to work with every writer, but the system does operate on first-come, first-served basis.

When you do send us your paper, be sure to tell us what the assignment is and what questions you have for us as readers.

We realize we are adding in an additional step to the email consultation service, and we thank you for your patience. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

 

E-Mail Consultation Policies

1. This service is for members of the Boise State community (students, faculty, staff).

2. Writers may submit two pieces of writing per week.

3. Only 7 pages of double-spaced writing will be accepted per session. If you would like to submit a longer paper, submit portions of it over a period of time. Another option is to submit the portion that you have the most questions about.

4. If your main concern is with grammar, we can only respond to 3 double-spaced pages per session.

5. Rather than edit papers, we pinpoint patterns of errors and show you how to fix them.
